Growing steadily over the past seven decades, the Comet Relays have become one of the biggest track and field meets in Ohio. Legendary coaches Jack Wilhelm and Richard Cooley - the track’s namesake - visited the Ohio Wesleyan Relays in 1955, and decided to bring a similar event to Amherst, Ohio.
Current Track and Field Head Coach Rob Glatz discussed this rich history as part of the latest edition of Comet Conversation. Learn about the officials, kitchen staff and volunteers who have made the Relays so successful, and find out why some say it’s the most organized meet they have ever attended.
